Community Donor Milk Support Through
Metro Atlanta Mother's Milk Alliance (MAMMA)
We’re proud to partner with Metro Atlanta Mother's Milk Alliance (MAMMA) as a freezer site for donor milk. Through this partnership, we help families safely access and share human milk when direct breastfeeding or pumping isn’t an option.
What is MAMMA?
Metro Atlanta Mother’s Milk Alliance (MAMMA) is a community-driven, ethical milk sharing network rooted in service, compassion, and collaboration. MAMMA is not a milk bank - it’s a milk alliance designed to support families whose babies are not hospitalized but still need donor milk. Donors are not paid for their milk, and recipients are never charged. The focus remains on community care, not profit.
Milk Alliance vs Milk Bank
While MAMMA shares many of the same safety protocols used in milk banks, there are a few key differences:
🌸 Donors complete comprehensive screening and blood testing
🌸 Milk is labeled and tracked using anonymized donor numbers
🌸 Milk is not pasteurized by MAMMA - instead, families are taught how to safely pasteurize donor milk at home
This allows for safe, ethical milk sharing that keeps accessibility and trust at the forefront.
Freezer Site West GA (Villa Rica)
While MAMMA shares many of the same safety protocols used in milk banks, there are a few key differences:
🌸 Donors: Once approved by MAMMA, you can schedule a time to drop off your frozen milk at our location or meet for drop off.
🌸 Recipients: Families matched with a donor through MAMMA can arrange to pick up milk directly from our freezer site or meet in a public location.
